"40 Days With The Holy Spirit"

PAUSE: WORSHIP & SMALL GROUPS

Wed. Sept. 29 - Nov. 17, 2010

7:00-8:15 pm

 

This Worship & Small Group Study opportunity will take place at the

church on Wednesday evenings with short daily devotional readings &

reflection done independently. Worship music will be led by our worship

band, “A Joyful Noise”. In these 8 sessions we will have the opportunity

 to get to know the Holy Spirit and see His work in our lives more

PAUSE Worship & Small Group Components

 

 

Weekly gatherings at the church for a specified number (usually 6-8 week examining a particular biblical topic or book of the Bible) of Wednesdays from 7:00-8:15 pm. Come to one or come to all in any series.

       

  

     Opening Worship - We gather for a brief time of prayer and praise, with songs led by "A Joyful Noise" worship band. We then view the video lesson or receive Pastor Nelson's teaching.

 

     Small Groups – We break into small groups led by discussion facilitators for study of God’s Word, discussion, and prayer. Groups will meet in pre-assigned rooms throughout our buildings for 50 minutes.

   

     The Lord’s Supper & Closing Worship – We gather again briefly for Pastor Nelson to summarize our lesson and briefly address unanswered questions that arise. Our worship then concludes with confession, absolution, the Lord's Supper and a song.

 

     Fellowship & Refreshments - Those who are able to stay gather in the Narthex for light refreshments and an informal time of fellowship with one another, before heading home for the evening.

 

 

 

Some studies offer a Daily Devotional / Study component of about 15-25 minutes – this is an optional component for those who desire, which involves individual:

 

     Reading – An assigned Bible reading for each day during the week. 

 

     Reflection – On the verses read that day guided by the questions written in the materials.

Weather-Related Service Cancellations

As we approach the winter months, we are registered with a service that announces cancellations of church services or schedule changes, giving us the option to cancel an event, classes, or a worship service. In the event of a cancellation, specific info will appear on these radio & TV stations and their websites: TV channels 6 (WRGB), 10 (WTEN), 13 (WNYT) & 23 (WXXA), and radio stations WFLY-FLY92, WGY-810, WRVE-The River, WYJB-B-95.5.

 

Please Note: Resurrection Lutheran Church worship services have ALWAYS been held (not cancelled) over the past 15 years, and it is HIGHLY possible that NO services will be canceled this winter. However, mid-week PAUSE services (including PAUSE for Advent & Lent) are automatically cancelled if the weather is inclement.
